Do you feel that people are better off
living in their own homes, vs. institutional living?
Some yes, and some no. This all depends upon the individual's situation. Those who are
better off living in their own homes are those who can continue to maintain at least a
fair level of physical health.
What are some reasons that it might be good for
someone to move into a nursing home or an assisted living facility?
When an individual cannot maintain a healthy environment, this would include medication
management; when one is limited in daily living activities, when simple activities, such
as: changing the bed sheets becomes difficult or is no longer possible. When an individual
needs assistance with ADLs (Assisted Daily Living), and when security issues become a
concern.
Do you feel that the emotional well being of an
individual is just as important as the physical well being?
Sure. When someone doesn't feel emotionally healthy their physical health always suffers.
How would you let seniors/the disabled know about the
importance of modifying their homes for safety, security and convenience?
Often times, this message is better received from a non-emotional contact, a non-family
member, or an outside source. In the case of one of your representatives making a
recommendation during an in-home assessment, this may be better received than if a family
member makes the same recommendation.
What do you consider to be the most important area in
need of modification in the home? What about the second most important? Please explain
why.
This likely will depend upon a person's physical handicap, I would have to believe #1
Doorway Access, and #2 Fire Hazard Issues.
Do you feel that a company that is trying to help people
live independently, longer in their own homes is pursuing a worthwhile ambition?
Yes.
Can you think of anyone(s) that would benefit from
knowing more about our company?
Yes. Nashville Christian Towers. |
