1st Annual Tennessee American Business
Ethics Awards |
May 1, 2002
Nashville, Tennessee -
The Nashville Chapter of the Society of Financial Service
Professionals, in partnership with Lipscomb University, announced the
2002 Tennessee American Business Ethics Award winners, in style,
Thursday night at Loews Vanderbilt Plaza Hotel.
More than 100 people attended the event that included former
governor of Tennessee, Winfield Dunn, as the guest speaker, and Steven
Dozier, president of the Society of Financial Service Professionals as
the master of ceremonies.
Awards were announced and presented in five different categories.
Life@Home won the Small Business, Division III, 0-25 employees.
Winners in each category will move up to the national competition that
culminates with the selection of three national American Business
Ethics Award recipients.
The Tennessee ABEA recipients were selected by an independent panel
of judges and recognized for their outstanding ethical behavior in the
business environment. Over 144 public and private companies throughout
the state were nominated for this prestigious award.
The Society established the American Business Ethics Award in 1994
to honor the U.S. companies that demonstrate their firm commitment to
ethical practices in their everyday operations and philosophies, and
in response to specific crises or challenges. The Tennessee Chapters
of the Society of Financial Service Professionals have established the
TABEA in 2002 to honor Tennessee companies that demonstrate these same
qualities and embody the Society's 70-year advancement of business
ethics and professionalism.
